Will we definitely see rhino?
Close to it, which is rare in Kenya. The conservancy is fenced and its rhino are intensively monitored, so guides know where they are. White rhino graze in the open and are seen on most drives; black rhino favour cover and take more finding.
Can we see the last northern white rhinos?
Access is managed and limited and the arrangements change. We will tell you what is currently possible rather than promising an encounter. At the time of writing both remaining animals are female and the subspecies is functionally extinct.
Are the chimpanzees wild?
No. Chimpanzees are not native to Kenya. Sweetwaters is a sanctuary for animals rescued from the black market and from conflict zones, and they cannot be released.
Why is the conservancy fee higher than a park ticket?
Because it funds anti-poaching, continuous rhino monitoring and community programmes rather than sitting in a general fund. It is also why night drives, lion tracking and walking are possible here and not in a national park.

How long should we stay?
Two nights. Three game drives, a night drive, the chimpanzee sanctuary and lion tracking if it is running. One night wastes the transfer.
Can we drive from Nairobi?
Yes — three to four hours on tarmac almost the whole way. It is one of the few places in Kenya where driving is genuinely the sensible option, which also makes it good with children.
Is it expensive?
The range is unusually wide. Ol Pejeta has some of the most affordable conservancy accommodation in Kenya alongside exclusive-use houses. Compare all-in figures including the conservancy fee rather than headline rates.
What is actually included in a safari price?
A Kenya safari is usually quoted fully inclusive: accommodation, all meals, park and conservancy fees, your guide and vehicle, and transport between parks. Most camps include soft drinks, house wine, beer and laundry.
Not included: international flights, visas or travel authorisation, travel insurance, tips, premium drinks, and extras like balloon flights and spa treatments.
